To apply for a place at the centre for your child, you can pop into or contact the centre to collect an application form during open times, there will be someone available to have a discussion with you. Should you wish to arrange a meeting with management, please contact us on 0114-2812143. We do not apply a registration fee. Should you take up an offer of a place, we will arrange for your child to complete 3 settling in sessions, which will help you and your child to get to know the staff and the centre, and for us to get to know you.

All 3 year olds and some 2 year olds are eligible for 15 hours of Free Early Learning (FEL). From September 2017, some 3 year olds will be entitled to 30 FEL hours, you can apply for this here (Childcare Support). To discuss any aspect of Free Early Learning, please contact the centre.

Across all rooms we promote a healthy eating philosophy, in which we encourage children to enjoy healthy snacks during the day. We also encourage parents to provide healthy lunch options from home. Children have access to water and milk at snack times, and access to fresh water throughout the day. We don’t offer juice at nursery.

We follow Phase one of Letters and Sounds throughout the entire nursery, right from environmental sounds and babbling in baby room, up to sounding out words phonetically in Pre-School. You can find more information about the Dfe’s Letters and Sounds programme here (Letters & Sounds Phase 1).

Throughout nursery, in all the rooms and open spaces through displays, children’s work and resources we embrace our ethos of diversity and respecting all cultures, difference and faiths. We encourage children to learn about the world around them, how to be respectful and tolerant of one another and how to embrace our differences.

Planning of activities and resource is done each day, and is based around the children’s voices. Practitioners in the room will observe the children’s interest and record their voices and base activities around this using a child centred approach.
